Have a Little Faith
Four mini stories under one roof. In each of these mini stories it reminds me that if I hold onto FAITH, determined not to let it go, that one thing that keeps me moving regardless of what I’m faced with. I can either have FAITH (the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen Hebrews 11:1 KJV) or FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real).
Signs of Light
It’s so important not to quickly judge a book by its cover. Lorna would find that out as she began to develop a relationship with Brittany and her son Kendall. Brittany like a lot of young women had plans that was interrupted by unplanned pregnancy. Not only is she a single mother but a mother of a sick child. Who is now forced into the government system to help offset the mounds of medical bills. After a little detective work, she found out that Brittany’s son was sick and she wasn’t looking for a handout, just a birthday cake. An act of kindness turned into a beautiful mother/daughter relationship. In our economy today even those who are highly educated can find themselves using an EBT card.

Having a little faith will cause you to trust an individual or thing, to get where God is leading you (new business, marriage, investing your time or money in a person or volunteer). “There are a lot of woman out there just like Brittany. Single mothers doing the best they can with what they have. ALL they need is a chance.”

Faith Will Overcome
We all heard this saying “sticks and stones may break my bones BUT words will never hurt!” Liar, liar pants on firer.
Grandma Pearl could destroy you with her mouth. Her words cut to the core, even though she was a bible caring, scripture quoting and oil throwing Baptist. But Faith Logan out of respect for her grandma who raised her wouldn’t say anything. She was only doing those things she was accused of doing. Living out the vicious tongue of her grandma. Hurting people hurt others even those they love. Faith would pray when she was a child that her mother, Vera would come an rescue her. She would sell her body to get the money she needed since the dead end job she was working was not enough. Family secret would come to its head releasing all those in the past it had held capture. New life can began for Faith and her mother as they leave their pass. Having a little faith in yourself and self worth granted Faith the opportunity to stand up to her grandmother and move forward.
